Opening Day Events for U7-U10 Teams - Updated: 2010-09-06 23:05:38    - '**UPDATED**'

    Welcome Back for the 2010 - 2011 season for our U7 - U10 teams ! To kick it all off on Saturday, Sept. 11th, 2010, before your regular season games on September 18th/19th, we are having our annual Guildford Athletic Club Opening Day at Hjorth Road Park.

    All of our U7-U10 mini teams will go through a club session where coaches and players will meet some of the G.A.C. Staff Coaches. Team coaches will also be working with the staff coaches. Team coaches need to bring their team soccer balls.  Players need to be in full uniform and wearing their shin pads and and soccer cleats (please remember to bring some water, too). Please have your team arrive 20 minutes early in order to get organized before the sessions begin.

    After the 1 hour team session we would like team coaches and at least 2 parents from each team to participate in a quick tutorial of the set and take down of the soccer nets.

    The scheduled sessions for Sept 11th, 2010 are as follows:

    8:30am - 9:30am   U7 Girls Teams & U7 Boys Teams Followed by 15min of goal set up and take down training
    9:45am - 10:45am  U8 Girls Teams & U8 Boys Teams Followed by 15min of goal set up and take down training
    11:00am - 12:00pm  U9 Girls Teams & U9 Boys Teams Followed  by 15min of goal set up and take down training
    12:15pm - 1:15pm  U10 Girls Teams & U10 Boys Teams    
    		 Followed  by 15min of goal set up and take down training

U6 Soccer Starts on Sept 18th - Updated: 2010-09-06 23:13:15    - '**UPDATED**'

    Our U6 Division (2005 & 2006 born) starts on Sept 18th at Hjorth Road Park (148th Street & 104 Avenue).

    All registered U6 players will receive phone calls (Sept. 13th - Sept 16th) to confirm their registration. U6 boys are to arrive at the field by 9:00am and U6 girls are to arrive by 10:30am. All teams will be assigned and each group will participate in a skills session with our technical staff. Please ensure all players wear their shin pads, soccer cleats and bring a water bottle.

    At Guildford Athletic Club, it is our parents that volunteer as coaches, assistant coaches and team moms. We will be asking the parents of U6 age group to fill these roles for some of our teams. All coaches will need to stay at the field for a another 1/2 hour after their child's session to go over the club information and get registered as coaches. Please consider volunteering with your child's soccer experience. We will be hosting a New Coaches Orientation Session on Sunday, Sept 20th to help get you started. For those considering coaching, we highly recommend attending this Sept 20th session.
