GAC is awarding up to two bursaries of $500 each to deserving players who are pursuing post-secondary education in 2026.
Note: GAC reserves the right to award no bursaries or fewer than two if there are an insufficient number of eligible applicants.
Eligibility
To qualify, applicants must:
• Plan to attend a post-secondary institution immediately after high school graduation
• Have a minimum of six (6) years of playing experience with a GAC or SGU team
• Have played at least three (3) of those six years with a GAC team
Application Process
All applications must be submitted via email by June 15, 2026. Send your documents to: president@guildfordac.com
Subject line: “2026 Bursary Application – [Your Full Name]”
Include the following attachments:
• Completed 2026 Bursary Application Form (PDF or Word)
• Two reference letters:
• One from a GAC coach or staff member
• One from a teacher or school administrator (Home-schooled students may submit a letter from a doctor, lawyer, or other respected professional)
• A 500-word essay (11 or 12 pt font, single-spaced) describing:
• Your academic goals and achievements
• Your community involvement
• How soccer and Guildford AC have impacted your life
Selection Criteria
Preference will be given to applicants who:
• Are well-rounded and motivated
• Demonstrate leadership, academic strength, and community involvement
• Show strong commitment to the GAC community
Bursary Awards
• Applicants will be notified by June 30, 2026
• Cheques will be issued by October 31, 2026 after proof of enrollment or tuition payment is submitted
• Recipients may be featured on the GAC website (with permission)
