Fall/Winter Season

Fall Soccer Season Details:

Gear up for an exciting season of soccer! Our fall program welcomes players from U3 (born in 2021) to U18 (born in 2007). Here's everything you need to know:

Season Duration: September to March

Practice and Game Schedule: Practices are scheduled in the evening during the week, with games played outside regardless of weather conditions. There are no practices or games on long weekends.

Gym Sessions: U3 to U10 teams move inside to gyms for weeknight training sessions from mid/late October to March. Please note that gym times and days may differ from outdoor sessions.

Uniforms: Uniforms are provided at the beginning of the season and must be returned at the end.

Equipment: Players from U6 to U18 must have shin pads and soccer cleats to play. Gym shoes and shin pads are required for gym sessions.

Volunteers: Two volunteers are required for each team from U6 to U18.

Age Group Specifics:

• U3 & U4 Parent Tot: Enjoy one staff-led training session per week with required parent participation. Programs run monthly from September to November and January to February. Each session requires separate registration.

• U5 Jr Mini’s: Engage in one staff-led training session per week. Programs run monthly from September to November and January to February. Each session requires separate registration.

• U6 & U7 Mini’s: Participate in one staff and volunteer-led training session per week, with games on weekends led by volunteer coaches with staff support.

• U8-U10 Community: Join one volunteer-led training session per week, with weekend games led by volunteer coaches. Technical staff oversight is provided, and travel may be required for games.

• U8-U10 Development: This is an invite-only program with additional High Performance Academy sessions, staff-led and volunteer-led training sessions per week, and games on weekends. Teams may be entered into the PDS League with travel required for games.

• U11/12 Div 1: Invitation-only program with High Performance Academy sessions, staff-led and volunteer-led training sessions, and games led by staff coaches on weekends. Teams are entered into the BC Coastal Soccer League with travel required.

• U11/U12 Div 2: Invitation-only program with two volunteer-led training sessions per week, advanced players invited to High Performance Academy (extra cost), games on weekends led by volunteer coaches with technical staff oversight. Teams are entered into the BC Coastal Soccer League with travel required.

• U13 & U14 Div 1 & 2: Invitation-only programs with staff-led or volunteer-led training sessions, games on weekends led by staff or volunteer coaches, and entry into the BC Coastal Soccer League with travel required.

• U15 - U18 Div 1 & 2: Invitation-only programs with volunteer-led training sessions, games on weekends led by volunteer coaches with technical staff oversight, and entry into the BC Coastal Soccer League with travel required.

• U11 - U18 Div 3: Volunteer-led training sessions per week, weekend games led by volunteer coaches with technical staff oversight, and entry into the SFDA or the BC Coastal Soccer League with travel required.

• Metro U15, U17, U18: Invitation-only programs with staff-led training sessions, weekend games led by staff coaches, and entry into the BC Coastal Soccer League with travel required.

Spring Season

The spring season is open to all U3(DOB 2021) to U18(DOB 2006) age groups. Please see details below: 

Spring Session runs April to June and no games are played on the May long weekend. All sessions are played outside rain or shine.  

Uniforms are provided at the beginning of the season and need to be returned at the end of the season. 

U6 to U18 need shin pads and soccer cleats to play. Two volunteers are required for each team. 

U6 to U7 Boys and Girls sessions will be on Sundays. 

U8 to U18 Boys usually have games on Saturday’s and girls games are usually on Sunday’s   

U3 & U4 Parent Tot: 

Weekly training sessions led by staff Wednesdays  

***Parent participation required***   

U5 Jr Mini’s: 

Weekly training sessions led by staff Sundays    

U6 & U7 Mini’s: 

One session on Sundays led by staff and volunteer coaches   

U8 to U18 Select Players (Development  Div 1/2, and Metro): 

All select players are encouraged to register for the community and Div 3 levels to take advantage of the early bird prices.  

There is an additional fee for all select players who will receive an invitation via email with a code to register for the appropriate program. 

The basic information applies below for the Select players and additional program details will be sent out via email   

U8 - U10 Community:  

One training session during the week led by volunteer coaches  

Games played on the weekends led by volunteer coaches  

Technical staff oversight 

Maybe registered into the Cascadia League or may participate in competitive opportunities  

Travel maybe required for games     

U11 - U18 Div 3:

Summer Programs

Summer Soccer Season Details:

Join us for an exciting summer season filled with fun, skill-building, and camaraderie!

Our program caters to young athletes from U3 (born in 2021) to U12 (born in 2012). Here's everything you need to know:

Season Dates: July 16th to August 22nd (6 weeks in total)

Session Schedule: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm

Location: Tentatively scheduled at 10320 146 Street Hjorth Turf #2, behind the Superstore on 104 Avenue.

Program Overview by Age Group:

• U3 & U4 Parent Tot: Enjoy a 45-minute staff-led training session per week. Parent participation is required. Don't forget weather- appropriate clothes and running shoes!

• U5 Jr Mini’s: Engage in a 45-minute staff-led training session weekly. Make sure to come prepared with weather-appropriate attire and running shoes.

• U6 & U7 Mini’s: Experience two 45-minute staff-led training sessions per week. One day focuses on training, while the other involves small-sided games following our age-appropriate GAC Curriculum. Please wear weather-appropriate clothes and running shoes or cleats and shin pads.

•U8-U12 Community: Participate in two 55-minute staff-led training sessions weekly. Like the U6 & U7 group, one day emphasizes training, while the other revolves around small-sided games following our age-appropriate GAC Curriculum. Ensure you're equipped with weather-appropriate attire and running shoes or cleats and shin pads.

GAC Academies & Special Programming

Calling all girls born between 2011 and 2015!

We’d love to have you join us for 4 FREE soccer sessions led by our club’s experienced technical staff. Whether you're already a part of the club or brand new to soccer, these sessions are open to everyone!

What to Expect:

Technical Training: Learn the basics of soccer or take your skills to the next level with fun, interactive drills.

Small-Sided Games: Get ready for some friendly competition with small-sided games designed to maximize touches on the ball and game play.

Meet New Friends: A great chance to socialize, meet new teammates, and have fun together on the field.

GAC High Performance Academy (HPA) U9 to U13

Program Duration : Monday Nights, September 23  - Dec.9  (No Session Sept.30th, Oct.14, Nov.11)

Times : This program will run in two time periods :2016,2015 Boys + Girls 2016,2015,2014,2013,2012 - 5:00PM-6:15PM 2014,2013,2012 Boys - 6:15PM-7:30PM

Invitations : This program is included in all Division 1 and Development players registration. YOU DO NOT NEED TO REGISTER AGAIN.

This program is designed to elevate the skills of young players who are hungry to take their game to the next level.

Who is eligible?

Automatic invitations will be sent to current players in the U9/U10 Development teams and U11/U12 Division 1 teams.

Select players from Division 2 and the Community Stream may also be invited based on their performance and potential.

What to expect:

•Experienced Coaching: Led by GAC Technical Director Mike Newton and a team of our most qualified staff coaches.

•Holistic Development: Focus on technical skills, mental aspects of the game, and sports psychology.

•Challenging Environment: Evening training sessions designed to push players to excel.

•Competitive & Supportive: Train alongside like-minded peers in a supportive and competitive environment.

•Future Pathways: Prepare for entry into the BCSPL (U13 Tier 1) or GAC's Division 1 Program (U13 Tier 2).

Mike Newton - Technical Director, Guildford Athletic Club

Mike brings a wealth of experience as both a player and a coach. He boasts a proven track record of developing talented young athletes and currently serves as the Technical Director at GAC.

Ryan Donald - Technical Lead U6-U13, Guildford Athletic Club

Ryan's extensive experience working with various age groups, combined with his playing career and coaching certifications, make him a valuable asset to the HPA program.

Tom Lowndes - Head Coach, University of the Fraser Valley Men's Soccer

Tom Lowndes is a dedicated and accomplished soccer coach with a proven track record of success. He has been at the helm of the University of the Fraser Valley Men's Soccer program since 2015, leading the team to numerous accolades, including two Canada West Final Four appearances and a Bronze Medal in 2015.

Goalkeeping Academy

We're excited to announce that GAC alum Jackson Cowx is joining our coaching staff for this season's goalkeeping program. Jackson's impressive soccer journey, combined with his dedication to the sport, makes him a valuable asset to our team.

A Bit About Jackson:

•GAC Roots: Jackson began his soccer journey at GAC in 2006, playing in our community program. Through hard work and dedication, he progressed through the ranks, eventually joining the GAC Metro Program and winning a provincial championship.

•BCSPL Experience: Jackson played at the BCSPL level during his U17 and U18 years, achieving a provincial medal and placing fourth at the Canadian National Championships.

•University Athlete: Upon graduating from high school, Jackson accepted an offer to play at the University of the Fraser Valley, where he is currently in his fifth and final season. He is also the co-captain of the team.
